Additional Data Elements for Shipments to Mainland China    05/25/18

Effective June 1, 2018, China Customs will require additional data elements to identify shippers and consignees of all shipments transported into mainland China. This additional information is mandatory for both master air waybills (MAWBs) and house air waybills (HAWBs), and this data must be provided on the paper documentation and included in any FWB/FHL Cargo-IMP messages transmitted to United Cargo.

This requirement impacts the United mainland China destinations of CTU, PEK and PVG. These data elements are not required for shipments to HKG and TPE.

The following data elements are now mandatory:
- Shipper's Enterprise Code must be shown on the paper AWB and in the OCI line of the FWB/FHL message
- Consignee's Uniform Social Credit Identifier (USCI) must be shown on the paper AWB and in the OCI line of the FWB/FHL message
- Consignee's contact person, name and contact number must be shown on the paper AWB and in the SHP and CNE data items of the FWB and FHL message
- Shipper and consignee's telephone number must be present as part of their addresses

Providing the additional data elements specified above will facilitate our acceptance processes and help ensure the transport of your shipment on the booked United flight(s). Customs clearance delays may result from failure to provide these elements.

Please feel free to contact your United Cargo Sales professional for more information. As always, United Cargo values your support and appreciates your business.
